Dance

Priya Roy started training in ballet at the age of four. She has trained in Nairobi, New York, Dhaka, Bangkok, London, Geneva, and Berkeley.

She attended American Ballet Theatre’s JKO School where she performed on her first professional stage, ABT’s The Nutcracker at BAM! in 2010 and 2011. She completed Royal Academy of Dance Advanced Ballet training, and was in the pre-professional program at Conservatory of Dance, Music and Theatre in Geneva. Here, she discovered her love for contemporary and jazz dance, which she continued into her college years at UC Berkeley where she was mentored by performance studies scholar Professor SanSan Kwan.

After focusing on ballroom and musical theatre in London in 2022, Priya started training in heels dance with Emma Rosa at Brickhouse NYC and burlesque dance with Tony Guerrero at Broadway Dance Centre in 2023. She has continued her heels and burlesque dance education in NYC, taking classes with legends like Mia V. Part at NYSB, and exploring other styles like belly dance, salsa, & queer social dance.
